Three years after President Obama signed the Lilly Ledbetter Fair Pay Act into law, he’s asking for support for another piece of legislation aimed at eliminating the gender pay gap: the Paycheck Fairness Act. His Administration recently released this video on YouTube:
Gender pay equity is an important issue, and I think we can all agree that everyone – irrespective of gender, race, age, sexual orientation, religious affiliation, etc. – deserves equal pay for equal work. But the Paycheck Fairness Act is not the magic bullet that will put a permanent end to pay discrimination.
